What is a white label website?
Small agencies sell client websites under their own name, even when someone else builds them.
Small agencies get client sites built four ways, and each way has its own monthly cost in California.
Client sites keep coming, and your hands are full
You sell websites to your clients, and you still do much of the client work yourself.
A new site comes in. You build it at night, or you turn the job away.
Builder tools look like a shortcut, yet someone on your side still builds each site.
And whoever builds it, the site has to go out under your agency's name.
A white label website, in plain words
A white label website is a website one business builds and another business sells as its own work, with no sign of who built it. The term has two meanings. It can be a website builder you put your brand on and build in yourself, or a site a team builds for you that goes out under your name. Either way, your client deals with your agency.
The short version of how it's done:
- Pick a route: a builder you rebrand, or a partner who builds.
- Put your brand on the work.
- Build the site, or give the partner your client's goals and content.
- Review the site with your client and send changes.
- Publish it on your client's domain.
Both routes are laid out step by step.
Four ways to get a client site built
An agency can get a client's website built four ways.
- Build client sites in house, with a hired web developer. Your own employee builds each site, and you pay that person's wages.
- Rebrand a white label website builder and build in it yourself. You pay a maker a monthly fee, put your brand on its tools, and your staff build each site.
- Hand each build to a white label web firm. You buy a block of a firm's hours, the firm builds, and you review the site with your client.
- Office-Based Insourcing with DeskTeam360: one flat-rate team that builds under your brand. You pay one flat monthly fee or a price for each site, the same team takes your tasks, and our name stays off the work.
The monthly cost of each way, at California pay
We priced all four ways at one workload: 2 new five-page client sites a month, with 10 client sites live.
| Choice | A month at California pay, our estimate | A month at US pay, our estimate | What the total holds | What it buys |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1. In house, a hired web developer | $4,726 | $3,799 | 80 hours of a web developer's pay: 40 hours a site, our estimate | One person's hours, pay only |
| 2. A white label website builder | $1,931 with Brizy to $2,073 with Duda | $1,584 to $1,726 | Brizy's White Label plan at $159 a month for 10 sites, or Duda's at $301 a month for 10 sites, plus 30 hours of your staff's time | A rebranded builder. Your staff still build each site |
| 3. A white label web firm | $2,754 with UnlimitedWP to $4,353 with E2M Solutions | $2,685 to $4,284 | UnlimitedWP's 80-hour bucket at $2,400, or E2M's Advanced plan at $3,999 a month for 100 to 120 hours, plus 6 hours of your review | A firm's block of hours. Hosting varies: E2M doesn't host, and UnlimitedWP's page doesn't say |
| 4. Office-Based Insourcing with DeskTeam360 | At least $1,851.48 on the plan | At least $1,781.94 on the plan | DeskTeam360's lowest plan, Entrepreneur, which costs $1,497 a month and runs 1 task at once, plus 6 hours of your review. That's the plan fee and review time only | A team that takes tasks 1 at a time. A full site is split into tasks done in order. Or buy one site at a time: DeskTeam360's founder says a Custom site starts at $1,500 and an AI Created site at $750 |
On the fee alone, a builder costs least, and your staff still do the building. With staff hours added, the builder and DeskTeam360's floor sit close, so we don't name a winner on cost.
DeskTeam360's per-site prices are starting prices, so no total in the table is built on them. Added features can raise the price of a site. To get a price for your own project, book a call.
Hours are our estimates, and pay is 2025 average hourly pay for web developers from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Prices are what each seller listed in October 2026. Left out of every total: benefits and employer costs, client domains, hosting for choices 1, 3 and 4, custom work a builder can't do, and any sales tax.
We don't give a market rate. We show two firms' own prices.
Each total is worked out, line by line, on the cost page.

An agency that builds sites for repair shops
Sidekick Marketing does marketing for electronics repair shops, mostly phone and computer repair stores, in 11 states. It builds websites for them and handles their digital marketing and design. The person who tells its story once ran a repair store.
The Duct Tape Marketing group is where it first heard of DeskTeam360, on a group call where the team's work came up. Most of what it hands the team is website and design work. It points to the quality of the work, the communication, and less back and forth on designs.

What agency owners ask about white label sites
Agency owners ask how a white label site differs from a builder, what one costs to deliver, who owns it, how to build one and which California rules apply.
Is a white label website the same as a white label website builder?
A white label website builder is software you rebrand and build in, while a white label website is the finished site you sell. A builder is one way to make one. A team that builds under your name is another.
How much does it cost to deliver one white label website?
Our estimate is that one five-page site costs a California agency $2,363 by hand, $966 to $1,037 with a builder, $1,377 to $2,177 with a firm, and at least $925.74 with DeskTeam360's lowest plan. Each figure is half of that way's monthly total. DeskTeam360's founder says a site bought on its own starts at $1,500 for Custom and $750 for AI Created, and added features can raise the price.
Who owns a white label website?
Who owns a site turns on the contract, so put the site, its code, the domain and the logins in writing with any build partner. Builder makers' terms say the content is yours and the platform stays theirs.
How to build a white label website
You pick a route, put your brand on it, build or brief, review with your client and publish. The steps for each route are on the build page.
Which California rules apply to a client's site?
A commercial site that collects personal details from people in California has to post a privacy policy, and the law puts that duty on the site's owner, your client. Tax, data helpers and ownership rules are on the California rules page.
Who does the work with each way
Each way splits the work, and the client contact, differently.
| Choice | Who builds the site | Who your client talks to | What stays with you |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Build client sites in house, with a hired web developer | Your employee | You | Hiring, pay and the whole build. If a solo contractor builds instead, California's worker test comes into play |
| 2. Rebrand a white label website builder and build in it yourself | Your staff, inside the maker's tools | You | The build and the client. The maker keeps owning the platform |
| 3. Hand each build to a white label web firm | The firm, inside the hours you buy | You | The review, the hosting when the firm doesn't host, and a contract on who owns the site |
| 4. Office-Based Insourcing with DeskTeam360: one flat-rate team that builds under your brand | Our team, task by task | You | The strategy, the client, and the words for sales pages |
Keep your name on every site you sell
